Here are some of the first pre-production renderings of the new Porsche Macan SUV. This smaller SUV is set the take on the likes of the BMW X3 and the Range Rover Evoque. The new Macan is due to be offered sometime during 2013 as a 2014 model.
Based on the Audi Q5, the Porsche will share many mechanical and power-train options with its cousin. That includes the turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, and possibly a 3.2 liter turbocharged engine. The engines used in the Porsche are expected to make more power than in the Audi, with the top engine choice making over 300bhp.
The Macan features a lot a visual details that match Cayenne. However, the rear tail lights are a throw back to the 911. The rest of the exterior looks purposeful and sporty. The rear quad exhaust tips really make the Macan look aggressive.
Expect the smaller Porsche SUV to cost around $45,000 – $50,000 when it hits dealer showrooms.
