The Crown Victoria P71 package police cruiser is slowly fading into the history books as one of the most popular police cruisers ever made. While they are still used widely in many fleets today, the age of the Crown Victoria will make it obsolete in the near future. In the race to be the next fore barer, Ford and Dodge have been fiercely competing to take over this market segment.
However, Dodge may have something up on Ford, and that is their HEMI V8 engine. That HEMI engine is optional on the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 outputs 370 horsepower which, when fitted in the Charger Pursuit, allows it to accelerate from 0-60 in 6 seconds.
The 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit gets a standard Pentastar V6 while the HEMI V8 is optional. Dodge also supplies the Pursuit model with load-leveling shocks, police-grade ABS brakes, and 18-inch high performance wheels and tires. There is a new AWD system available as well.
Departments can specify and customize the Pursuit Charger through a primary distribution center which will allow them to get the exact equipment level Pursuit model to best fit the needs of each individual department.
Expect to see the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit model on the streets fighting crime in the fall of 2015.
