2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Following in the footsteps of the Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Charger is getting the same supercharged Hellcat HEMI V8 engine with 707 horsepower.  That makes the Charger SRT Hellcat the world’s most powerful sedan.

What does 707 horsepower translate to in acceleration?  The Charger Hellcat will get from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and reach the quarter mile in 11 seconds flat.  Top speed is a staggering 204 mph. Accelerating at full throttle will empty the gas tank in just 13 minutes.  All that power needs massive brakes. Stopping all that power are a set of 15.4 inch, 6-piston Brembo front brakes – the biggest ever fitted to a Dodge.

The supercharged HEMI V8 is connected to an 8-speed automatic with wider gearing.  Unfortunately, no stick shift will be offered.  The reason, Dodge says, is due to lack of demand and packaging issues.  The suspension is the basically the same as the regular SRT, but with Hellcat-specific springs and shock valves.

The same “Choose Your Own Adventure” keyfobs are included with the Charger.  Choose the red keyfob to release all 700 horsepower, or the black keyfob to limit power output to 500 horsepower.

Weighing in at 4560 pounds, the Charger SRT Hellcat weighs 100 pounds more than the Challenger Hellcat.  It’s been said that extra weight aids in traction off of the line.

Pricing has not been released yet.  The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is due to be officially released in the first quarter of 2015.
