BMW is scheduled to introduce a hotter version of its M2 sports coupe. The 2018 BMW M2 CS gets additional power, improved suspension components, and aggressive body styling to enhance an already impressive performance coupe.
The M2 CS will be powered by a 400 horsepower twin-turbocharged six cylinder from the M4 that has been specifically tuned for the M2 CS. Coupled with the engine’s torque output of 370 lb-ft, it represents an increase of 40 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque over a standard M2. BMW will offer two transmission choices, a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed M dual clutch.
That combination will allow the M2 CS to hit 0-60 mph in about 4.2 seconds, an impressive number for sure. The CS variant is expected to also lose some weight compared to a standard M2 which will make the everyday performance much more improved too.
Similar to the BMW M4 CS, the M2 CS will get upgraded braking components, suspension tuning, and aggressive body styling to further exploit it’s performance capabilities. BMW usually adds lightweight wheels with much sticker tires for the CS models, in addition to some very welcome interior modifications which add sportiness and reduce weight.
BMW is likely to debut the M2 CS at the Geneva Auto Show in March of 2018. While pricing information hasn’t been released yet, you can expect to pay a heavy premium over the $52,000 base price for a standard M2. The model will go on sale later in 2018.
