Porsche fans know that the 911 GT2 RS is the most hardcore performance 911 money can buy. Porsche’s newest GT2 RS is a perfect match for the track featuring a race-ready suspension, twin-turbocharged engine, and a seven-speed PDK transmission.
The GT2 RS gets the famous 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat six-cylinder engine that is estimated to produce at least 641 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. All of that power gets transmitted to the ground via a seven-speed PDK transmission – no manual will be offered. As a final touch, the GT2 RS gets a similar suspension setup that the 911 Cup cars utilize featuring spring rates twice as stiff as the GT3 RS.
Porsche is aiming to keep the weight of the GT2 RS at around 3300 pounds. This can be brought down even further by opting for the Weissach package which steps up to a carbon fiber roof, titanium roll cage, and magnesium wheels.
This rare and performance oriented 911 model will set fast lap times around any track, and it is expected to that the model will lap the Nurburgring ring in under seven minutes. As with any GT Porsche, production will be limited and the base prices will be high. That being said, Porsche will, without a doubt, sell out of these before they hit the road.
Release date and pricing have yet to be announced.
