Enthusiasts everywhere have been waiting for a higher performing BRZ and AE86 for years. Subaru might have finally answered their call with the BRZ TS. The TS doesn’t get any additional power, instead, it gets a number of tweaks designed to maximize the potential of its nimble chassis.
Designed only for the USA, the Subaru BRZ TS gets new Sachs dampers and coil springs front and rear, extra v-shaped braces in the engine bay, and a stiffened front subframe to improve response from the steering. The modifications don’t stop there. Subaru also gives the TS model a set of 18-inch STI alloy wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport tires. These are the largest factory sized wheels every put on a BRZ, and the fit over bigger Brembo brake calipers.
The only styling modifications come in the form of STI fog light covers, and an adjustable, carbon fiber, trunk mounted spoiler.
The effect of all of these changes should definitely be noticeable, but how much more focused the car will be is hard to say. The lack of a power upgrade does hurt though.
The Subaru BRZ TS will be released in the beginning of 2018. Pricing has yet to be announced. There will only be three colors choices: white, black or World Rally WR blue.
